Crow Tor Dartmoor - Little Joe

Post by Ray » Mon Sep 03, 2012 8:25 pm

Sometimes in life, it is good to find an isolated spot, where you can just sit and think. Crow Tor, can be reached from the car park at Two Bridges.

Leaving the car park, you head north, through the ancient woodland, keeping the river to your left. The Tor, is a fair distance on the right.

To just sit on a sunny moorland day in autumn, is just beautiful. Hardly a sound can be heard, except for the brush of the wind.

Why do things happen in life to try us? Some times life is good, and sometimes not. Is it like a game of snakes and ladders, you climb towards your goal, only to slide back down again. It is, as they say, a journey.

Little Joe

Where am I? I do not know
I’m only seven, my name is Joe
I went to sleep, and did not wake
My breath it stopped, no sound it made
I am not tired, and feel such love
I’m in a world of light above
I see it all, I tell you so
But my heart, did not wish to go
I miss my mum, I really do
My friend John, and sister too
I still see them, and always smile
Please stay and play, for just a while
They see me not, and I feel so sad
As I dream, of the life I once had
Each night, I see mum’s tearful eyes
Don’t cry I say, as my heart sighs
AS SHE SLEEPS, I KISS HER cheek
A cuddle from you, dear mum I seek
I am so near, but seem far away
Here beyond the mist, I try to say
I am so lost, in this wonderous place
But at peace, in such loving grace
I am so sad, I need my mum
But I know one day, that she will come.
