Widecombe in the Moor - Devon

The moorland mist drifted here ans there, as we arrived at the village of Widecombe in the Moor. Home of the famous folksong, Widecombe Fair.
It was November. Long gone the tourists of summer, although the village is a popular destination for visitors all year round. This is truely a magical place. Just a few properties ans a church, clinging to the moorland, since time can remember.
The trees had shed their leaves for their winter sleep, hiding in the mist to await the return of the spring. To walk along the narrow lanes at this time of years, is to feel a connection with nature.
One or two other people, wandered through the village, looking into the windows of cottages to spy any sign of life. The sound of cattle ans sheep in nearby fields, emerged from the mist, to greet ans say hello.
A place to visit, yes indeed.
