Cadover Bridge – Dartmoor - = Life in Seasons

On the moorland part of the River Plym, Cadover Bridge strides across the river, between the remains of earlier moorland mining activities. A popular place to visit, the bridge offers a good place to stop and explore the river bank. Heading northward, there are places where the river is deep enough to enjoy a swim. Going south, towards Shaugh Prior, is an interesting walk, complicated a little by trees overhanging the river bank. The waters of the Plym, make their way south to the sea in tripping and flowing over granite boulders in its path.
To site upon the bank and watch life pass by, leads to a feeling of peace and wellbeing. All ages of people stop and rest here, from the young to the old, painting a picture of life itself. We arrive, we journey, and we depart.
Life in Seasons
Spring, time for new life to come,
Upon this world’s, hidden light.
Adventure, learning, to enlighten one,
On a journey of mindful sight.
But then, why is this all for I say,
Drifting, just drifting, in strange desires,
In thought, in kind, can but display,
Casts this Earth, a path of mires.
Summer, a time to love within the sun,
In hearts of all peoples unfolds.
Sweet love, sweet caress, at last has come,
In youth, the light of all enfolds.
Scented flowers grace the land to feel,
Hopes of those, who wish sincerity.
Clouds pass by, let time reveal,
Give the good to others, and receive dexterity.
Autumn, sighs of the browning leaves
Come to the world, as the sun bows its head.
Stains of life, begin to tell, the body believes
In minds of care, the seeds are fed.
Pass on to each season, each day in touch,
Conscious wisdom, grows inside.
Life of love, but why does it hurt so much?
To have done not well, but at least have tried.
Winter, darkness lurks, behind the screen,
Bodies fade, reaching hidden delete.
All this, what does it truly mean
To head once more, the light to meet?
Goodbye to thee, in this hopeful place,
Curtains of life, as if I might
Sleep once more in heaven’s grace.
Return for sure, till then, Goodnight.
