Cockington Village Torbay - The Percival Pixie

Cockington Village Torbay

Possibly the romantic view of Devon, is that of old thatched cottage, nestling in the warm sunshine of a quiet coombe. Cockington fits that description but when all the visitors who come to enjoy its appeal, finally make their way home or to wherever they are staying on holiday.

Dreamy it still remains, in the tradition of the olden days, when such villages were farming communities. Myths and legends abound that makes Devon so special. As you walk along it’s lanes hugged both side by hedgerow, out of the corner of your wye you may spy a figure that may be there or may not. Possibly a Pixie, who knows!

The Percival Pixie

Not Percival Pixie, be my name
I lives in Devon, down yonder lane
We are a myth, and legend they say
If you can see me, do not dismay
I’ll bring you luck, if you make a wish
A pot of Gold, on a Silver dish
It’s your call, don’t bother me
Whatever you want, is yours you see
To be rich, not always brings wealth
To live your life, helps with good health
I see in your heart, like a hand in a glove
Best wish I can give is that of true love.

Easter will soon be here, followed by the summer holiday period. Percy is waiting to meet all visitors to Cockington. If you can see him.
