Fox Tor Mire
Situated south east of the moorland village of Princetown, and near the old Whiteworks tin mine, can be found Fox Tor Mire. The mire is a bleak, but beautiful place. A good knowledge of the area, especially when walking is essential, as the ground here is, as the name suggests, a bog.
When the mist descends, with a cold moorland chill, it is not the place to be. But on a clear summer’s day, the wild rugged terrain is quite appealing. It is good to sit and just watch the local wildlife go about their daily business.
Hoppit the Frog
Time passes by, as I sit on this pad,
Dangling my feet, in the water, not bad!
The world passes by, but what do I care?
There’s plenty for lunch, for us frogs to share.
Since I was a nipper, a tadpole you may say,
I found life quite simple, whatever the day.
Some times you win, others you loose,
But life is such fun, depends what you choose.
Hop from one lily pad to another, with your goals all set,
Be positive I tell you; don’t get your feet wet.
Love is so real, give it your best chase,
And hope for a clincher, or passionate embrace.
Being a frog, gives time to reflect,
On all things in life, and people you’ve met.
Opportunities taken, some that you miss,
You may meet a Princess, who may give you a kiss!
Till then though, I must paddle along,
Bathe in the sunlight, and croak out a song.
Been nice to talk, just had to stop,
It’s time for a swim now, goodbye, plop.

Re: Fox Tor Mire - Hoppit the Frog
Yes, in reply to the a question, Fox Tor Mire, is not the best place to be, especially, when the mist comes down.
