The London Inn - Plympton St Maurice

The London Inn in Plympton St Maurice, near Plymouth, is a old 18th century coaching Inn. Now it is a public house, is situated on a corner in the old town. The Inn still embraces that olde worlde feeling, with a open coal fire in the Lounge in winter, and and a character Bar. Under the floor of the Bar an old well was discovered a few years ago, indicating at some stage the part of the building was an open courtyard.
The old Inn appears, according to local folklore, a history of Ghostly goings on. The most well known is that of a Army officer, William Hines, who fought a dual at nearby St Mary's Brige. Unfortunately for William, he lost and died from his wounds in the bedroom at the end of the passageway on the first floor. It is said that William still resides there to this day, a century of so later.
The Old Inn has been visited by various paranormal investigatin groups, and it would seem, that enough evidence has been found to support the story.
