Dawlish

Dawlish, is a quaint quiet holiday destination. The arrival of Brunel's Great Western Railway, provided easy access to the seaside during Victorian times and has continued ever since. The old town has a beautiful energy and light. Busy at times but still offers space for those quiet moments that everybody needs these days. The railway station is right on the beach, but does not interfere with the enjoyment of the sands. The red coloured cliffs seem to form a protection from the outside world that enables Dawlish to breathe with a sigh of relief.
A stream runs through the centre of town making it's way to the sea. Was that a black Swan I saw there, surely not. A comfortable park lies a little further inland which is sheltered and pleasant to sit and reflect on the day. On a warm summer's day there is no better remedy for sleep that a bottle of cider in a still Devon coumbe.
