The Pythagorean Society presents - ‘Have we really lost our connection with the natural world? - Guest speaker – Dr Karen Stead-Dexter
Karen Stead-Dexter PhD is a Medicine Woman, Teacher, Environmentalist & Bird Whisperer who has always had a deep connection with nature and all things spiritual. From the Inca Shamans, Bon Buddhists, Celtic lore and traditions, to the Native American respect for the Earth; all have helped guide Karen to understanding who she is today.
For the past 18 years Karen has her own Birds of Prey sanctuary which has given her a wonderful opportunity to embrace their wisdom and medicine and use this, with their permission, to teach Bird Spirit Medicine.
The energies she uses are very 'Shamanic' in nature and link together her interests in Bon Buddhism, Laika, Celtic, Forest Bathing and Native American Traditions. Karen says “Energy healing has opened a new world to me, allowing me to see my life as a sacred journey of the soul, a journey to wholeness; allowing me to see the destructive patterns (in my soul’s path) holding me back and allowing me to change for the good.”
In this talk Karen will be calling on her vast knowledge and experience and looking at the areas of human disconnection with the natural world and the need to ‘return’ and ‘open’ up to that connection once more, helping us to reconnect with nature.
