Battery Powered Vehicles.
Are Lithium battery vehicles safe? Recent foreign media reports would suggest possibly not. The reports covering flooding in Italy, highlighted Lithium battery powered vehicles catching fire when coming into contact with water.
With this evidence, which appeared not to be reported in the United Kingdom, should a new look at the feasibility and safety of battery vehicles be given further research.
Maybe, that the use of Hydrogen, currently being explored by some manufacturers, be the way ahead for future transport requirements, rather than Battery power with its limitations.

It would be interesting, if any research has been carried out, on the magnetic fields produced by these batteries, and the effects on the health, of people using these cars.

Re: Battery Powered Vehicles
A recent observation in relation to the introduction of battery powered vehicles, was made by a Plymouth taxi driver recently. He was concerned about the cost of replacement batteries, which he estimated to be in the region of £5,000. If this is the case, then a large bill may arise after a couple of years or so. This would make battery cars as taxis not viable. Possibly, another point in favour of hydrogen powered cars.
