Mount Batten Pier, was once part of RAF mOUNT bATTEN. Here, at one time, Flying Boats could be seen as they made the take offs and landings, in the water of Plymouth Sound.

With breath taking views of Plymouth Hoe, Mount Edgecombe, and the Breakwater, the Pier now serves as a level walkway for all, including the physically challenged.

Here you may see local fishermen, and women, fishing from the rocks. The ferry to France and Spain, passes near the end of the Pier for a close view. Boats under sail, cross the Sound from side to side in a South West breeze.

One Sunday afternoon, a lady walked along the Pier. Her long dark hair, sweeping from side to side, as she made her way. As she turned around, to look towards the sea, her beauty reflected the Sun. With a shyness glance, she smiled, her eyss as green as the waving sea. This romantic place, the air, the sea, and lovely Amelia.

Amelia

Your love is tender
Your love is sweet
Your love much fonder
Each time we meet

In love they say, all will reveal
Feelings in hearts, and crystal minds
True love, so pure, that it may seal
Bonds of friendship, trust, trust, surely finds

Fear not dear love, for all is true
Like a ship, upon a tranquil sea
My love, much love, is just for you
In my world, there is but thee.
