Sharpi Tor - Dartmoor - Devon

On the Yelverton to Princetown road, a mile or two past Dousland, Sharpi Tor is situated on the right hand side of the road. It's sister, Leather Tor, lies just behind it. Close to the road, access to Sharpi Tor is good, although, like most Tors on Dartmoor, there is a need to navigate between rocks as you head to the top.

Near the small car park, there is a pond, where Dartmoor ponies come to take a drink, and try and grab a bite to eat from visitors.

The view from the top of the Tor is beautiful. Just the place, maybe, to sit and enjoy a relaxing meditation. Providing it is not blowing a gale, or raining of course. Calm sunny days have been known.

Dreaming

Silently drifting, just drifting,
Past the Tor’s of greying granite.
Hearts in love, rising, lifting,
Past all clouds, in brightness lit.

Gently, whispers a windy blow,
Sighing, with a mystic yawn.
Sleep, deep sleep, a mind does know,
A land of dreams, before the dawn.

In this land, a place divine,
Days as real, in life are none.
For there is no time,
Love and peace, is all as one.

Dawn’ pure light, catches the eye,
Fresh the early morningtide.
The dream that comes, now passed by,
Unlike dreams, you cannot hide.
