Plympton St Maurice Castle - By the Light of the Moon

Post by Ray » Tue Mar 05, 2013 5:39 pm

The old town of Plympton St Maurice, dates back to Norman times; as does it's castle. The castle, now a ruin, stands on a knoll near the church. The Bailey is still evident, and is used these daydays, as a park, and an area to hold local events.

The castle, commands a position overlooking the local area. At dusk, as the Sun sets in the western sky, and on a clear night, it is a good place to see the Moon. The light of a full Moon, giving the Suns energy of life. a chance to reflect on a darkened world.

By the Light of the Moon.
Goodbye, dear Sun, Goodnight,
The day is done, and all is well.
As darkness comes, there is no light
In each heart, of love can tell.

In this darkness, there is a light,
A planet, bright and strong.
Reflects the Sun, to guide each night,
Till dawn, heralds it’s vibrant song.

It is with grateful thanks, the Moon appears,
To those on land, and far at sea.
To shine a light, with happy cheers,
As you guide my love home to me.

Dedicated to a Plympton gIRL.
