The Exeter Inn - Modbury

Post by Ray » Wed Apr 04, 2012 12:14 pm

It was in 2009, while visiting this old Inn with Cornish clairvoyant Carrington Marshall, that the history of paranormal activity, becomw evident.

On entering the premises, Carrington asked the barmaid who the lady was stood further back in the bar area. This lady was dressed in old fashioned clothes, more relevant to te 18oo's than the present. This lady, was of course, not visible to others in the bar. In some amazement, the barmaid explained, that there was a story about a previous landlady from years ago, that still visited from time to time.Another reported event in the bar area, was that of a small child, details of which are little known.

Like many other old buildings, The Exeter has a history of such events. Outside, in a open air passageway leading to the rear of the property, another lady, quite advanced in years, had been seen walking before she disappeared through a wall.

Having not visited the Inn since, it would be interestng to know of any other tales of the unexplained.

Modbury, is quite an attractive village, with the Exeter Inn, situated at the bottom of the hill, travelling from the Plymouth direction.
