Seasons Point Yealm Estuary - A Thought in Time

Post by Ray » Mon Apr 02, 2012 11:59 am

MD Season’s Point

The estury of the river Yealm, must be one of the most beautiful places in Devon. Accessible by walking along the cliff path from Wembury, Season’s Point lies at the mouth of the Yealm.

It is a place to sit at dusk on a clear evening, and watch the arrival of the night sky, with it’s variety of colours, eventually settling upon midnight blue. As the sky begins to sleep, lights of fisherman’s lantern’s start to appear on the headlands, both sided of the estuary. The smell of the salty sea lingers upon the breeze. With the Moon giving it’s guiding light to boats heading out to sea.

In the morning, the estuary awakens slowly with the dawn. Bringing light once again to the Point. The start of a new day always brings a new beginning.

A thought in mind

Like ships that sail the oceans deep
Life on Earth, most precious keep
No harm to give, no harm will take
Grow your mind, and love will make
Words of peace, and joy unfold
On the breath of man, such things are told
All are one, each sister and brother
Free the chains at last, and love one another
Peace then, in the worlds golden eye
In the light of truth, there is no lie
Fear not, it truly does not exist
Only in the thoughts of those lost in the mist
Explore the way, to heaven’s nest
In love and peace, the world will rest.
