Guest speakers – Helene Lustrup

Today we will have a deeper look at the many metaphors and surprising qualities of salt. The substance has exceptional properties, is a universal symbol of purification and is linked with both fire and water. Its unique abilities have made it an integral component of various spiritual practices.

Helene Lustrup will expand on the various ways salt shows up in mythology, history, sacred texts, culture and how it continues to affect our lives in very real and tangible ways. In our modern world which constantly pursues new and clean energy sources, salt has a role in the green energy transition too.

Salt is an intrinsic part of life and health as it will purify, energize and preserve – intriguing and mysterious powers from a humble yet universal substance.
This talk will have a familiar and inspirational character, building on our everyday kinship with salt and deepen on the mysterious transformations it brings in its wake.
Helene Lustrup lives in Norway. She is an architect by profession working with sustainable urban development, a guest lecturer and keeps a meditation practice in her community.

Today we will have a close look at the many metaphors, the symbolic and physical properties of salt along with its use in spiritual practices. Helene Lustrup will expand on the various ways salt show up in mythology and how it has influenced human history.
