DG – Plymouth Guildhall

Is this old Guildhall haunted? Thius is a good question. It certainly has an odd atmosphere. The building, which dates back to the Victorian age, was severly damaged during the Second World War, has been restored, in line with it’s traditional appeal.

The masonic, “obelisk” style tower, stands guard at the front entrance, as if to salute all who enter. The entrance looby, is set with a staircase leading to the upper guildhall, with a rather small lift, to assist those with a mobility challenge. The main hall, leans on the negative rather than the posstive, with the stained glass windows displaying scenes from the war years, althought important in the history of the city, maybe, should remain in the past, as the city looks forward to a more positive bright future.

The lower Guildhall, used for less grand functins, provides a large facility for an event.

In relation to the building being haunted, it would be best to speak to the staff who work there. Like many old buildings, the energy feels rather heavy. There maybe a presence of older souls, linked to the area prior to the buildings construction. The lower Guildhall, the refreshment area, and the back of the stage area represent the best possibilities.
